Worry - By Jerry Black

“Worry is a cycle of inefficient thoughts whirling around a center of fear.” - Corrie Ten Boom “Anxiety is a thin stream of fear trickling through the mind. If encouraged, it cuts a channel into which all others thoughts are drained.” - Charles Spurgeon “Worry is interest paid on a possible future event or circumstance that doesn’t usually occur as we thought.” - Jerry Black When I was a child my mom would occasionally say to me or my brother “Don’t be such a worry wart!!” I remember thinking about that later as a child when I got my first wart. It eventually got large enough mom took me to the doctor who first froze the spot to anesthetize the location so it could be burned off, to then heal. Worry is like that too. I worry now if my wart was because I worried too much as a kid or because I handled a frog? What’s your worry? Are you a worry wart? Think about that. Will your “interest” (worry) pay dividends? As advisors at Legacy Planning Advisors, we think about that. An excellent book on the subject worth reading is How to Win over Worry: Positive Steps to Anxiety-Free Living- By Dr. John Edmund Haggai. Need to chat about this? Give us a call!
